Trapped!

Delilah said to Samson, “Until now you have mocked me and told me lies. Tell me what you may be bound with.” And he said to her, “If you will weave the seven locks of my head into the web of the loom… And it came to pass, when she pestered him daily with her words and pressed him, so that his soul was vexed to death, that he told her all his heart, and said to her, … If I am shaven, then my strength will leave me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man.” [Judges 16:13-17]

Even as I put this write-up together, there is a man somewhere that is so tightly held in the jaws of deceit that he cannot leave. He is trapped and he cannot escape. Like a spider entangling a prey in its web, the enemy is busily entangling men. Samson would not leave Delilah because she had stolen his heart. Some men have had their hearts stolen. They really want to escape but they cannot. It is important for us to understand that God has not called us to bondage but liberty. The bible says that we should “stand fast in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.” [Gal. 5:1]. A lot of men are saved and know the Lord but the enemy is using their flesh to set them up for destruction. Samson’s weakness in the flesh was lust for women and so the Devil sends him Delilah. She was a sophisticated Philistine woman, a master of emotional manipulation, who was able to lead Samson on to a point where she had him trapped. She had him like a bird in a cage; where he would not leave even if he wanted to.
Right now, as you read, some men are in cages somewhere; you might be in one yourself and I just want to let you know - it is time to leave! I came to recommend to you somebody with enough power to break your cage and let you out! His name is Jesus. You have probably known him a while but not as your deliverer. He has a mission, mandate, and power to set every captive free (Luke 4:18).

Your deliverance is free. Jesus has already paid for it. You just have to call on Him and He will answer. It does not matter what you have done, God will not hold it against you, because Jesus bore all your sins on the cross. Jesus has already faced any judgment you would face on the cross. So long as Jesus is your savior your past is all history in the mind of God. Come to Him my brother and let Him transform you into the man He wants you to be. He has deposited so many gifts in you and they need to be released.

RISE TO YOUR PURPOSE
If you have been a member of a church and all these times you have remained inactive, it is time to rise up to your purpose. God has a definite purpose for your life. All He is asking from you is to love Him, acknowledge, and obey Him. Then all things will work together for your good and according to His purpose in your life [Romans 8:28, paraphrase]. It is important for us to understand that God only intends good to happen in our lives. He promised that, “His goodness and mercy shall follow us all the days of our lives” [Psalm. 23:6]. When things go wrong, it is certainly not God’s doing because He cannot contradict Himself. In fact it is in the character of God to do good and to do you wrong is to act against His character, which can never happen [Jeremiah 29:11].
