FAVOR IN 2010 | January 2010 | PRINT
It’s now about forty years and the people of God finally crossed over the Jordan into their promised land. To the glory of God you too have crossed over into year 2010; although you may have faced some challenges in the past years, and success might have been an uphill battle in your life before, God wants me to assure you that this is the year of promise for you. 2010 shall be your year of satisfaction with the goodness and favor of God. In the book of Joshua 3:9-16 we read that the waters of Jordan were cut off so that the people could cross over.
As you move around and make your decisions this year, let the word of God go before you, i.e., put God first in everything. It is the WORD that will instruct you in a new year that you’ve never seen before. You cannot have good success or make your ways prosperous in life without God. Psalm 127:1-2 says, “Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain that build it; unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain. It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows; for so He gives His beloved sleep.” Unless Jesus favors your endeavors you will be working in futility. Do not waste your years anymore with Godless ways of living. No matter how busy you are in 2010 God must be the first in your schedule, family and work (Joshua 3:3-4). The Bible says you and I must seek first the Kingdom of God. We cannot leave Him out of our schedule and expect His promises to be fulfilled.

Run away from every evil adviser such as Balaam and keep yourself from being defiled. Even if your adviser is a prophet any advice that is not biblically based is not of God. Balaam advised Balak to lure the Israelites into sin by having their men sleep with the Midianite women; knowing that the only way to offend God is for His people to get into sin. (Rev. 2:14; Num. 25 & 31:16). You have crossed over to your year of success, please do not lay your hands on sin - the sting of sin is death. The only way to enjoy God is to avoid defilement. This year, many people will abuse their spouses and get into fraudulent activities of all kinds, but please stand clear of all these things. Some people will leave their churches this year; some will stay in church but seek other powers for solution to problems; some will leave their spouses for other women, while some will get involved with various illicit activities. I appeal to you, stay out of such. 1 Peter 1:15 says you and I should be holy as our Lord is holy. In 2010, follow Philippians 4:8 which says, “…whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy – meditate on these things.”
